Three Comfortable Festive Holiday Outfits
As a stylist, there has never been a holiday season where I’ve wanted to be more comfortable but still festive, as this one. What a strange time we are finding ourselves in, having to hunker down in the midst of a pandemic. But also, a good time to think about the importance of slowing down, spending time with family, and dressing in a way that allows us to feel more like ourselves. This holiday, I’m all about wearing outfits that feel comfortable with a little bit of festivity thrown in. I’ve partnered up with Garnet Hill, a beautiful home + lifestyle brand, to share three holiday looks that are both festive and comfortable for the winter season.
Look 1: THE VELVET BLAZER
Nothing says holiday more than velvet and I absolutely adore a velvet blazer for a holiday look. This deep gold velvet blazer, paired with a simple silk camisole, jeans, and an animal print loafer is perfect for a comfortable holiday outfit at home. Even if you’re heading to a small family gathering, this daytime look is great, especially for running around with Kate and Miles. I found this blazer to be so relaxed with a hint of a structure. It falls at just the right place around the shoulders and hips and fits true to size.
Look 2: Monochromatic Tones
If you want to put together a simple, chic outfit for the holidays, monochromatic is the perfect way to go. It is one of the simplest color combinations that takes little guesswork and makes a stylish impact. If I’m ever struggling to figure out what to wear for a holiday event, I always, always turn to a monochromatic look. This recycled cashmere sweater is slightly cropped with a drop shoulder and slight puff sleeve at the wrist. It is beautiful and so comfortable. I paired it with cropped wide leg cord pants and a pair of spotted loafers. Two ways to make an outfit more interesting are to add texture and a pop of pattern and the shoe and the sweater do just that. The sweater comes in a few different colorways as do the cords.
Look 3: Comfortable Glamour
If dressing up is more your style but the holidays are going to be a little more low-key for you this year, pulling together something a bit fancier might be as simple as throwing on a little block heel and a fun sequin duster cardigan. This outfit is fun meets function. I pulled together a chic pair of white cords with a matching silk cami, then layered with this beautiful sequined long cardigan. It’s purposefully oversized, so it’s all the more cozy. If you want a looser fit, stay true to size. If you want a more fitted look, size down. I wanted to dress the look up for a holiday date night so I threw on some comfortable block heels in a similar neutral hue to tie it all together.
Thank you to Garnet Hill for sponsoring this beautiful holiday style post!
