When I spent some time thinking about my work versus non-work clothes, there's not a huge disparity there. What I wear to work, I'd wear to networking events, to a baby shower, or bridal shower, even meeting up with friends.
Then I got to thinking about why that is. I've come to the conclusion that putting together cute work outfits is all about the art of choosing pieces that have the right aesthetic so you can take them from work to weekend or day to night. For me, I choose to wear work outfits that involve a lot of color, texture, and patterns. Which I found, also resulted in me feeling a lot better about what I was wearing all day long!

- when choosing a piece with patterns & prints, offset your outfit with a solid color
- if playing with color, jewel tones are the most beautiful hues and work on a majority of skin tones.
- when pairing up a bright color or pattern, compliment the outfit by pairing it down with a minimal, more subtle color.
- think about choosing pieces that have opposing partnerships to create balance. what that means is if you choose to wear a pencil skirt (fitted) matching it with a loose, blousy top will work great.
