Over the last few seasons, pleated maxi skirts have made their way into the mainstream of street style.  I don't know if they ever went out but they are certainly making a big comeback.  No stranger to a skirt, I'm a big, big fan. Especially when it comes to a pleated maxi skirts.   Here is an emerald green maxi skirt outfit that's easy to put together if you've got a few key pieces in your closet.

How to Style An Emerald Green Maxi Skirt Outfit for the Holiday

Last week, my husband and I had the pleasure of attending a beautiful winter wedding where I wore this Olivaceous emerald green maxi skirt that I bought at Vocabulary Boutique in Little Italy.  When I first saw this pleated emerald green maxi skirt, it was one of those pieces that immediately caught my eye and had 'holiday outfit' written all over it.  Maybe it's the emerald green color, or maybe the pleats, but a combination of both has made this one of my favorite maxi skirts.

If you're relatively new to the pleated world,  here are a few tips to keep in mind:  1| pleats can draw attention to the eye, so they tend to work best on women who aren't super petite.  2 | if wearing pleated skirt, make sure the skirt waistline hits at your natural waist (where the most narrow point of your waist is) and belt it if you want to add a bit of accentuation.

Now let's talk about color, emerald green.  It's a personal favorite of mine because the color itself is so so stunning on women.  What colors pair well with emerald green?  I especially love pairing emerald green with black & white, plain white (I paired it with a white top and gold belt for another holiday outfit), black & gold, even bright blue.  Emerald has such vibrancy that pairing it with another vibrant color works.   Because the skirt is one solid color, you can get away with wearing a printed top, like this black and white striped top I paired together.
