A Review of The Everlane Wide Leg Crop
First off, a little backstory about Everlane. I recommend this brand to a lot of my clients because they've got great, minimal basics. From tees to tanks and totes to denim, they're all at great price points. (No, this is not sponsored by Everlane (lol) I just love the brand!) Everlane is a direct-to-consumer brand. Meaning they cut out the wholesale costs by selling smaller amounts directly to you, online. Everlane actually just released a new loafer the other day and I can already see styling it in so many ways. They have simple, functional pieces anyone can wear.
With all that said, I own a few of their tops and was dying to try their cropped jeans. I came across their wide leg crop pant in a burnt orange color a few months ago and ordered them immediately. Their price point ($68!) was awesome. I wanted to know if their price & quality were on par.
My Fit Session: Notes on the Everlane Wide Leg Crop Pant
After a fit session in my room, I found the following:
they have a bit of give to them
the pants are high waisted
they cinch in at the waist & I had to order a size up (my hip to waist ratio is almost the same)
they come in two lengths (regular and short) and I opted for the regular length
I had them altered 3 inches from the bottom. They're made of cotton and extremely comfortable and durable. While this cut might not be for everyone they certainly work for me. So much so that I ordered a second pair in the bone color (which is the color I'm styling in the photos here). The Everlane wide leg crop pant works on women with no hips, wide hips, petite and tall.
I did a style session on Instagram with four other women, all featuring these pants and they worked on everyone. My recommendation would be to have them hemmed (I'm 5'6" and short waisted) to fit your body type. Of course, if those don't suit you, I've linked a few other wonderful styles below as well. J.Crew & Anthropologie have a ton in store right now, so should you feel the need to do a try-on in store, that's a great place to start!
