Fall Capsule Wardrobe with ABLE - 12 Outfits with 3 Bottoms
Able continues to be a brand I love to partner with for their ethos of giving jobs that support women alongside paying a living wage. The brand continually creates pieces that I utilize in my day to day wardrobe. They recently launched some fall pieces and I thought I would show you how I would style those pieces into a fall capsule wardrobe, along with giving you some capsule wardrobe tips for creating one on your own. I’ve created 12 outfits but there are plenty more ideas you could create with these pieces!
Tips for Creating Your Own Capsule Wardrobe
1 | Think in terms of color - narrowing down a color palate to a main/base, neutral, and accent color will create cohesiveness
2 | Think about balancing silhouettes - Have a mixture of narrow and wide pieces to mix and match together for balance.
3 | Stay true to “you” - What do you wear most often? Are they pants? Dresses? Bring these styles in first (at least two) and then add around those pieces to create outfits
4 | Bring in a balance of neutrals and prints within the same color palette - once you’ve narrowed down a handful of colors to work with, you can bring in a print or two that have the same colors within. This will allow for easier mixing/matching
5 | Layer variety is key - having different lengths of layers will allow you to pair with a variety of bottoms/top.
6 | No Magic Number - there is no magic number but if you have at least two different silhouette bottoms (wide, fitted, loose) and lengths (ankle, full, cropped, midi, maxi) this will give you more variety within your capsule. If you’re starting to feel as though some of the pieces feel redundant, that’s when it’s time to bring in an additional piece.
What I did: Ultimately I built the capsule off of the bottoms and worked around them with similar tops and then brought in a variety of layers to keep the outfits simple, chic, with varied silhouettes. I could have continued creating more outfits with these pieces but had to stop somewhere, lol!
