How to Host An Accessory Exchange
The Art of Throwing an Accessory Exchange. Let's Chat. Last month, as I was vigorously cleaning out my filled-to-the-brim accessory drawer, I had a bit of an idea. What was I to do with all of my shiny baubles and once glorious bangles that I've worn over the days that no longer fit in my ever-evolving style regime?

One of the most enjoyable experiences for me is when a great group of people are together, mixing and mingling in a lovely setting, with a glass of champagne, maybe some sparkles, noshing on some yummy treats. Doesn't that sound kinda dreamy?

A few weeks back, one of those nights was had at Vocabulary Boutique in Little Italy for Art in the Find's second annual Accessory Exchange. A lot of love and helping hands went into putting together this fun evening that was filled with trading accessories of all types, shopping, and happy chatter. A million thanks to Andrea Gallagher Photography for capturing images of this fun-filled evening!
If you're wondering whether or not to host your own exchange, here are a few ideas for making your next swap a success.
1. In a world of plenty, set a few limits. It's a great idea for everyone you know to bring every accessory they can but setting a limit on the amount of items a guest can bring, as well as keeping the guest count manageable, will make for a smooth, efficiently timed exchange. As well, having plenty of places for guests to set out their accessories with pre-made themed labels makes for a well-organized arrangement.
Themed signs, clearly labeled, along with a fun print from Minted, create a lovely display.
Prints from Minted were displayed around the room.
Beautiful accessories from Vocabulary Boutique also graced the room
2. Introductions can be fun! Looking for a way to start your exchange? Integrate fun, festive DIY name tags that can double for guests to use as their number during the swap. Think about a unique introduction game, such as an accessory match, to get guests mingling with new friends.
3. Pick a theme & design your food, decor, and space around that theme. There is no better way to make your swap feel warm and inviting then to tie in elements of a theme with small bites for guests to enjoy and thoughtfully decorated spaces.
