One of my favorite things to do is to share style tips for wearing a new piece. I had someone ask me the other day, how do you wear a shirt dress? And that got me excited to show you how. Let's face it ladies, I am not throwing on high heels when I walk out the door each day.

When I first started teaching, I wore high heels and skirts almost everyday. Well...that did NOT last very long! What was I thinking?!? I was certainly trying to look stylish but at the end of a 9+ hour day, my feet were not liking anything about that. So I started to integrate more comfortable, yet still stylish, shoes and outfits like this shirt dress into my wardrobe. When you're wondering how to wear a shirt dress, think about all the ways you can layer things over the shirt dress, like this jean jacket (which is one of my faaaaavorite capsule wardrobe pieces!)

How to wear a shirt dress depends on where you're wanting to go? On a date? Style the shirt dress with a pair of heels and a clutch. How to wear a shirt dress in the winter? Add some leggings (or tights) and boots with a sweater. Done and done! Now on to the shoes! I've stumbled upon what is my go-to shoe this season. The slip on. As a matter of fact, I'm wearing some right now! These are nothing new, I know, I wore a similar style (can we say, Vans?) in junior high, but these babies have certainly gone through a make-over and now I wear them with just about anything. Skirts? Yup. Jeans? Of Course!
