Trying the Over the Knee Boot Trend: Yay or Nay?

I've been meaning to try over the knee boots.  I had been eyeing them, watching the way others wear them, and finally got the bug to just style them already to find out what my thoughts were on the over the knee boots trend.   If you've been itching to figure out how to wear them too, here are my thoughts on the trend along with some tips for styling an over the knee boots outfit!

Tips for Styling an Over the Knee Boot Outfit

I posed a question on Instagram about how you'd like to see an over the knee boot outfit styled and received a lot of great feedback!  Some of you thought that it would be great to see the brown suede over the knee boots (like I have on) paired with jeans, maybe a skirt, but also a great shirt dress.  All of which I think are great ideas, some easier to execute than others.

The easiest way I found to style an over the boots outfit was pulling on a pair of skinny jeans and an oversized sweater.  I love that the oversized sweater creates a bit of cozy, winter warmth on the top, and the skinny denim with the over the knee boots creates a slender line all the way down to the ground.  Would I recommend wearing the boots with an outfit like this?  Yay! I give it two thumbs up.

Here are a few easy tips for putting an over the knee boots outfit together

1 | oversized on top pairs well with fitted on the bottom | because over the knee boots are so slender and long, it works well if wearing them, to be paired with an oversized sweater or loose fitting dress on top.

2 | they don't all fit the same | so if you think you can't wear over the knee boots and they just aren't for you, think again! it's a matter of fit.  Some fit tighter on the thigh, some loose.  Some have a high inch heel and some don't!  To get your over the knee boots outfit working right for you, try try again until you find the pair that fits perfectly for you!
