Pink Maxi Dress from Ingrid & Isabel
I've been picking and choosing some spring pieces and maxi dresses, like this pink maxi dress from Ingrid and Isabel, are high on my list. Admittedly, finding the right transitional wardrobe pieces in pregnancy from February through April isn't easy. I've been following along on some other mama journeys to get a glimpse into what they did and are doing, which has been helpful. But if there's one thing I've learned as a stylist experiencing a pregnancy, it's that every woman's body experiences it differently. Here's what's working for me.

Styling a Pink Maxi Dress from Ingrid & Isabel
I've given maternity denim a go, found a pair that I slightly love, but so far am still on the fence. What works, in terms of comfort, are high waisted (empire waist) maxi dresses. What's great about a high waisted maxi dress is that they're not just maternity specific. I love them, recommend them for women with wider hips, petite women (alter them!), and for everyone in between. This pink maxi dress from Ingrid & Isabel made its way into my wardrobe last month. I can see wearing this maxi dress throughout my pregnancy and beyond.
Here's what I love about the pink maxi dress. Maxi dresses are super versatile so if you find a good one, it should last you quite a while. When choosing a maxi dress for it's longevity, think about sticking to a solid color, or a pattern (stripes, small florals) that are classic. While pink in't for everyone, it's having a moment this season, and I'm loving it. Anything with an elastic waistband is my friend. And right now, this is my bestie.
Things I might change? I would love for the fabric, which is just the nature of a jersey knit, to be a bit more forgiving. This type of fabric, without a print and light in color, tends to show every nook & cranny, so you have to be very specific about undergarments (think nude, full coverage). Other than those obvious downsides, I am a big fan of a dress that makes any women feel flowy, boho-y, and all around pretty about themselves. And this pink maxi dress dress does just that.
