When it comes down to it sometimes you just want to get all dolled up in fall garb, the scarves, the vests, the boots, am I right? Well this week's style post is an uber-fun one! In partnership with Zappos, I styled my new Paige Denim and Freebird boots to show you what to wear with a plaid shirt!

WHAT TO WEAR WITH A PLAID SHIRT
One of my favorite parts about fall style is that you can layer outfits, especially tops, in so many ways. I've gotten a reader question about what to wear with a plaid top and I am super happy to be able to answer it. Plaid tops are some of my favorite tops to work with in the cooler months. Here are a few great suggestions for pairing a plaid top:
- pair it with a faux fur vest and flip up the collar, then layer with a great necklace
- pair it with a layered scarf wrapped around the top
- throw on a great wool sweater and untuck the plaid top with jeans
What to wear with a plaid shirt? I wear a button down tucked in to my denim paired with a statement necklace, pulled out and over my jeans for a more casual look, and unbuttoned layered over a dress or with a vest on top. Versatility at its finest!

With the denim, I thought it would be perfect to show you what to wear with a plaid shirt. You can throw on a layer over the plaid shirt, like I did, with the faux fur vest!
I've been dying to get my hands on a pair of camel colored high ankle booties. When I saw these online, I thought they looked super unique and I like the color of the handcrafted leather. I love that they're open in the back (and fun little extra? they have snaps!!) because fall can be kinda on the warm side here in San Diego, so these are the perfect "San Diego fall boot". Still wondering what to wear with a plaid shirt, other than a vest? You can certainly layer with a fabulous winter sweater or even a tulle skirt!
