Although it's still warm in San Diego, fall has officially begun.  And nothing says fall like a buffalo checked shirt.  Today I'm breaking in my red and black buffalo checked plaid shirt by showing you how to create three outfits with just one shirt.

Styling a Buffalo Check Shirt Three Ways

One of those classic fall to winter tops is a buffalo check shirt.  Closely related to gingham and plaid, buffalo check usually is found in a red and black color combo.  That being so, I tend to style and wear this top during the cooler months of the year.  To encourage you to do the same, I've styled the same buffalo checked top three ways, for a weekend look, a holiday look, and a date night look.

Buffalo Check Outfit for Date Night

Leggings are still on the style scene and are a great way to pair a date night outfit with a buffalo plaid top.  This loose top and legging combo works perfectly styled with a pair of heels.

Buffalo Checked Shirt for the Weekend

Who says you can't wear glitter during the day?  In this case, you can dress down a buffalo checked top with a pair of jeans and flats but still have a bit of sparkle with a fun shoe!  For you ladies who might be a bit bustier and think a button down doesn't fit right on you, the safest bet is to go a size up and take it to a tailor to have the sides taken in.

It's easy to dress up a buffalo checked top with a fabulous sequin skirt.  For the holiday, gold, black, and red pair really well together which makes it the perfect color combo.  Think about pairing fun patterns, like plaid, polka dots, and animal print together!
