Sequin Skirt Outfits for Gals to Rock at Every Age

I am one of those gals who thinks that sequins skirts are the best.  I know that not everyone shares the same affinity for sparkly sequins as I do but I also know that if you saw some sparkle in a not so blingy outfit pairing, you just may be more likely to give it a shot.   Or if you knew how to put a great sequin outfit together, you might be more likely to do it.  Am I right?

How To Wear Sequins (and Not Just Sequin Skirts) at Any Age

So hang with me here.  I was having a coffee convo with my girlfriend the other day, trying to walk my puppy and she her infant in a stroller (the latter having much more success than I) and it hit me.  Not only should every woman feel empowered to wear sequins but they should look at a sequined piece as though it's a piece they can mix into an everyday outfit.  But that's where we figured the problem lies (or is it lays? ah heck, it's there).

Women don't see themselves pulling off sequin skirts or a sequin top because they don't know how to wear those sequin pieces to fit their body types.  Or it might be that you feel that sequins are too youthful.  Does that sound familiar?  So I want to get you thinking about sequin outfit ideas in terms of how you'd transition said sequins by your age, from your 20's to your 60's.

In an effort to show you that you can wear sequins regularly, I've put together some sequin skirt outfits and other outfits using subtle sequins.  I've paired some great sequin outfits for women by age, style, and price.  Cause yes, a 20 year old might find a great piece at H&M but let's be real, it's not where a 50 something is always shopping.  My hope is that each and every one of you can feel comfortable, confident, and fabulous rocking those sequins like I do!

Sequin Skirt Outfits in Your 20's

In your 20's, it's all about the legs (and maybe showing off as much skin as legally possible!).  You can get away with short sequin mini skirts with (or without!) tights paired with high heels and great leather or suede booties.   Mixing and matching sequin skirts in fun colors such as pink, gold, or silver with graphic tees and cropped sweaters are the perfect 20-something sequin outfit mixes!  On a budget?  No problem.  You can score a great sequin skirt at H&M, Zara, or even Target!

Sequin Skirt Outfits in Your 30's

In your 30's, it's about starting to find good pieces that are going to last and mixing them in with fun trends.   You might score a thigh length sequin skirt or even think about adding some sequins onto your sweater.  Or you can mix a great classic turtleneck with a trendy sequin blazer/jacket.  At this age, it's the perfect opportunity to buy a long sequin skirt in a classic color, such as black or silver.  Why?  Not only can you wear a long sequin skirt for the holiday but you can also wear it to all those weddings you're being invited to in your early 30's!  Then you can pair it up with a chambray (denim) shirt that is a classic closet item.

Sequin Skirt Outfit Ideas in your 40's

You've sailed past your 30's and have a better idea of a trend vs. staple piece.  You can afford to spend a bit on pieces that you consider investments.  Sequin outfits might not be your first go-to but hold off on any judgements because they can really up your game!  Think about a great sequin top with a classic pair of high waisted tailored pants (hello, detail, hello structure!).  Even layering with a trench coat (sleeveless or not) adds a great structured element to your outfit.  As for sequin skirts, a great pencil skirt is just the perfect pairing for you with a classically tailored silk top.

Sequin Skirt Outfit Ideas in your 50's +

Think of throwing sequins out the window in your 50's?  Absolutely not!  This age is the best to show off some great tailoring when it comes to sequins.  Think of sophistication being the ideal word here.  Pair a minimally embellished sequined piece with pointed kitten heels or even pointed ballet flats in black, red, or taupe, and you've got a timeless look.

And if you still love sequin skirts (like I most definitely will) in your 50's, there is no reason why you can't wear a beautiful sequin floor length maxi skirt paired with a classic white top.  Carolina Herrera does it masterfully and she's in her 70's!
