Budget Friendly Casual Summer Outfits to Add To Your Wardrobe
Now that we're into warmer weather, let's chat about casual summer outfits. I don't really like to spend a whole lot of money on these summer pieces because I look at them as useful for a temporary season filled with travel, rather than investment pieces. So I challenged myself to find some fun casual summer outfits to pack for my next vacation from Old Navy for $100. I'd recommend these pieces because they rank high on my 'cute yet comfortable list'.
Budget-Friendly Casual Summer Outfits
When it comes to summertime, it's great to have casual summer outfits that are comfortable for the weather & budget friendly. There's nothing more frustrating than investing in summer pieces, only to wear them a few times. It's especially important to think about summer outfits for travel (especially if you don't use a travel packing list), lounging, and summer events. Summer is one of those times of year where the weather may change on the fly, there are planned daytime activities, unplanned night time activities, all the good summer stuff.
With that said, my list of casual summer outfits, that you can purchase, is pretty solid and has worked for me time and time again.

An arsenal of great dresses are a must for summertime. Dresses make for the best casual summer outfits. Lately, off the shoulder dresses have been all the rage, which I love. Old Navy makes a slew of great summer dresses, most of which are around $30. The fits seem to be true to size.
Dresses make great casual summer outfits because you can pair them with sandals, flats, and clogs, then throw on a hat, and voila! Should you not love the off the shoulder look, a great midi dress, swing/shirt/shift dress (like the red one I have one) or a high waisted dress are great options too.

In my opinion, printed pants are a great summer option. Why? Because pants can go from day to night, warm to cold, casual to up-a-notch in an instant. Pants are a workable option when you're traveling because they are so versatile. Say you decide to walk into a lovely hotel spot for tea or a late night cocktail. What would be more appropriate, jeans or pants? Pants. Also, you can roll them up and pack them in a hat, for more space in your bag! You can pair them with a great going out top, a button down, or a tank. Alternates to printed pants? A solid print ankle pant or Bermuda short is a great versatile budget friendly summer piece.

Denim jackets are far and away one of the best pieces to create a fun casual summer outfit. I have had the same denim jacket for over 12 years now and I cannot say enough great things about it. I have mixed and matched it with shorts, pants, dresses, you name it! This is one layer that will definitely get it's worth per wear.

During the summer and when traveling, I almost always wear a hat. I fell in love with the hat brand, Gigi Pip, after a friend of mine, Jamie, raved about them. Now I almost always purchase my hats from their online store. Their adorable & affordable hats (all under $80) make them budget friendly and fun for summer. || A Note On Summer Travel Packing Clothing & Accessories ||
Every time I plan a summer trip, I start thinking about what I'm going to pack in my suitcase. I'm one of those people who tends to pick up a few new budget-friendly pieces of clothing for every trip I go on. I like to mix and match these with what I already have in my wardrobe. Don't get me wrong, I love a good investment piece for summer wear. But I also like to have functional budget friendly outfits that can take me from an airplane, to lunch, to the beach, and beyond.

When traveling, I pack a small over the shoulder bag that I can use to stash my goodies. And I pack a larger, backpack style bag that I can sling over my shoulders when I'm walking around all day, and a hat to use for both day walking and beach going. How do you know whether to splurge or save on a bag for travel? Tip: A rule I follow is if the bag is a staple color, ie: caramel/tan, black, navy, or beige/white, I splurge. If it's a fun colored bag, I usually spend under $100/$50 or so. Old Navy, H&M, and Zara usually have great budget friendly bags.
