Cute New Years Eve Outfits for A Sparkly Celebration
If you're looking for some sparkly inspiration for non-traditional cute New Years Eve outfits, check out this fun color story! I helped do the wardrobe styling for this fun, whimsical shoot of cute New Years Eve outfits and it was a blast working with this group of ladies.
Four Sparkly Cute New Years Eve Outfit Ideas
The inspiration for the cute New Years Eve outfits was very Kate Spade and I loved the color story of bright, colorful pieces with lovely bits sparkle sprinkled in the accessories (Mimi and Lu and Vocabulary Boutique, of course!). I know we haven't even made it to Christmas yet, but I wanted to share these fabulously cute New Years eve outfits because it was featured on Green Wedding Shoes this week!
Tips for Creating Cute New Years Eve Outfits
1 | Don't go the traditional color route ||
Gold and black your go to combo? Not this year! For a fun and sparkly untraditional New Years Eve outfit, try a combination of pink/cream, green/black, floral/black, or pink/black.
2 | Add texture to an otherwise plain outfit ||
If you're not a fan of huge amounts of sequins and glitter, no problem! Wear a top that has embellishments on the collar. Or wear a simple top with a great statement necklace. This turns a plain NYE outfit into a fabulous one!
3 | Florals aren't just for spring ||
Think you can't pull off florals for NYE? Wrong! Wear a floral dress, slip on some tights (if the weather turns cold), pull on a cute blazer and add some sparkle with earrings and a great broach! Or grab a few friends and flowers and create flower crowns for a bit of floral punch.
4 | Play with outfit proportion ||
If you're opting for a two piece, skirt/top or dress/jacket, think about proportion. It looks best to have one fitted piece paired with one not-so fitted piece. (Think: loose on top, tight on bottom, or vice versa.) Highlight the part of your body you are most confident in by wearing a more fitted piece around that area! Love your arms, a sleeveless dress/top is perfect! Love your legs? Try a shorter skirt matched with a loose fitting top!
