Does Where You Live Influence Your Personal Style?
Does where you live influence your personal style? I certainly think so! I love chatting about this with clients because they don’t even notice it until after they’ve gone through a big move or job change and they feel like they’ve fallen into a “style rut”. Why?
Why Does Where You Live Affect Your Style?
Because your style is influenced by your job, your neighborhood, your city, your weekly activities. Different places have different elements, different weather, and different lifestyle activities. Flip flops for city living, probably not practical. Heavy parka jacket for San Diego? Probably never going to get worn! That’s why it’s so important to dress for the lifestyle YOUR living in the city YOU live in.
I was asked by Talbot’s to share how my personal style is influenced by where I live. I live in San Diego, a mostly moderate climate year round, so pieces like this sweater blazer, my relaxed denim, and a cotton top are the perfect blend of layered, tailored, and comfortable that speak to who I am as a stylist and mom. These are pieces that will get year-round wear for where I live. How about you? Where do you live? What pieces influence your style because of where you live?
Everything is linked below, I sized down for all the clothing pieces and also had the sweater blazer altered on the sides and arms to fit my frame better. I sized up on the shoe 1/2 a size. Alterations are a game-changer!
