HALLOWEEN DINNER PARTY TIPS

This evening is a special one and a bit out of the ordinary for Halloween.  And you know what?  We like it that way!  It's fun to host an untraditional dinner, right?  I've never been a huge fan of a large, crazy crowd, which is usually what Halloween can bring.  Instead we opted to create an intimate dinner, with close friends, and a fabulous menu to boot.

  • Style Tip #1 -- Set the Stage | Create not only a setting for the table but also designate a spot for drinks and appetizers to be served when guests first arrive.  Whether it be an entry way, a hall, or a foyer, set the stage for an elegant evening with an immediate visual impact upon entry for your guests for your Halloween dinner party.

  • Style Tip #2 -- Add low key DIY elements, like apples with spray painted gold tops, terrariums filled with seasonal florals or pumpkins, bowls overflowing with gourds, and mini white glitter pumpkins.  Then fill in the space with a beautifully stated floral centerpiece (florals by Layered Vintage) using jars or pitchers from the home.  (Chulucana Jug |West Elm)

  • Style Tip #3 -- Table Settings -- Tie in the colors of the season for your Halloween dinner party by pulling inspiration from seasonal foods.  Here purples, reds, and grays are used to create a dramatic table setting.

  • Style Tip #4-- Small Details Count -- From creating custom midnight bouquet menus (Wedding Paper Divas) for your guests, to adding moss plate "chargers" under the plates, small details are a fun way to bring the dinner together to create a memorable event.  Tie silverware with festive ribbon and add a bit of detail with skeleton keys.
