How to Host A Themed Bridal Shower
Hosting a bridal shower can be a challenge if you're not sure which direction you should go in or even where to start. Here are 5 tips for making sure the bridal shower you host is a fabulous one!
Last month, a few gals and I got together to throw our dear friend, Jessica, a bridal shower theme inspired by her honeymoon to Thailand. As with many of us ladies, every year we are either going to, or throwing, a bridal shower. The bridal shower theme is a fabulous idea when you want to personalize the shower for a bride that you love. Here are some tips for hosting a shower with a bridal shower theme.
1. CREATING A THEME
Bridal Shower Theme Tip #1, TURN TO PINTEREST | If you haven't already, the best place to start getting visually inspiration for your bridal shower theme is with Pinterest. Isn't it great to live in a world where we have that at our fingertips! We started out our bridal shower theme idea by creating a colorful Pinterest board inspired by all things having to do with Thailand. We met, over a home-cooked dinner from our gal's favorite Thai food restaurant no doubt, and started the party prepping.
2. HAVE FRIENDS HELP YOU CREATE!
Bridal Shower Theme Tip #2 | TURN TO YOUR GRAPHICALLY-MINDED FRIENDS | Create a custom invitation for your bridal shower theme by asking your friends who might be graphically-inclined to design it. This brings in such a special touch, as that can be your friend's gift to the bride for the shower!
3. CREATE A SIGNATURE COCKTAIL
Bridal Shower Theme Tip #3 | Think themed cocktails or a cocktail bar. Looking into the bridal shower theme, if a cocktail sticks out, serve that! (Here is a simple, easy cocktail with fabulous visual appeal. ) But if all else fails, having a champagne bar is a great idea because we all know every good party starts with great champagne cocktails!
Drink Tip | Using a lemon wedge (for the biding liquid) and golden sugar you can purchase at any craft store like Michael's, decorate the rim of each glass for an extra pop!
4. ADD A DIY TOUCH
Bridal Shower Tip #4 | DIY! Get the gals together and get crafty! DIY your own tasseled garland and your own colorful backdrop out of crepe paper.
5. ORDER OR MAKE THE BRIDE'S FAVORITE FOOD
Bridal Shower Theme Tip #5 | Themed food menu | Chose foods from the bride's favorite restaurant so you know she'll love it! What better way to bring Thailand to Jess than to host an afternoon filled with traditional Thai food! We brought in Jess's favorite Thai food from J&T's in San Diego
Themed food Tip? Dip fortune cookies in white chocolate for an easy, fun take away or dessert. A farewell would not have been the same without a fortune to be told. And white chocolate dipped fortune cookies sprinkled with glitter were the way to do it!
