Two Minimalist Jewelry Trends to Try This Season
Over the last two years, there's been a bit of a shift in jewelry trends. Ever since the 'minimalist' movement took hold all across interior spaces everywhere, it led to a connection in people's closets. It's no surprise that what takes hold in the design world also spread out to the fashion world and vice versa.
The 2017 Minimalist Jewelry Trends
All hail the ideas behind minimalism. Trying to clean out spaces from an altogether cluttered world, I couldn't agree more. In this world of go, go, go, it is no wonder that we're trying to strike a balance in the other parts of our lives. I was (and often still am) a lover of large, fun, colorful, statement pieces but find myself gravitating towards a more clean, sleek jewelry look when I'm running around for my day to day tasks. There's something about the 'less is more' idea that gives an elevated type of style to an everyday, casual outfit.
Jewelry Trends for 2017
Two very simple trends that are very easy to pull off (and I'd highly recommend) are:
- clean, crisp layering - This trend is really so, so much fun! You can take necklaces of different lengths and wear multiple. It creates a really interesting dimension that is visually appealing.
- mixing metals - This is a trend that I absolutely love and always have. Some people are sticklers for one metal, while I say, mix and match jewelry until your heart's content. My wedding ring is platinum and my band is gold and I love it because it gives me the freedom to wear both silver and gold any time I want!
Minimalist Jewelry Trends with Touchstone Crystal by Swarovski
I had the pleasure of hosting a fantastic Sips & Sparkle jewelry event with Touchstone Crystal by Swarovski last month in San Diego and what a treat it was! Touchstone Crystal by Swarovski is part of the Swarovski brand and they offer affordable jewelry for the everyday women. Most of their jewelry is under $100! I was able to share some of my favorite Touchstone Crystal pieces and talk about the jewelry trends that I'm loving, all part of the Swarovski family of jewelry. I absolutely love some of Touchstone Crystal's layering necklaces, which I wore that night, and with my casual overalls outfit in this post.
The beauty of the minimalist jewelry trend is that you can layer simple pieces, one over the other, to create a really beautiful mix of layers and lines. My favorite Touchstone jewelry pieces? I love the golden bars necklace layered with the v necklace. Two very cool pieces, at different lengths, create a really cool visual effect. Here are some fun snapshots from the event that night.
