3 Reasons To Try Wearing Green This Season
Admit it, there are days when you walk out the door feeling absolutely wonderful with your choice of outfit. Is it the cut of the green dress? The color of the blue top? maybe both? Maybe you notice that your co-workers give you a lot of compliments such as, "oh, the color looks great on you." If so, you may be tuning in to what is a great color to compliment your skin tone. This is not always the same with everyone but I will tell you that more often than not, there are a few colors that tend to look great on a vast majority of people.

Warming up to the Color Green in a Knee Length Green Dress
When I was in high school, our school colors were Kelly green and gold. Having not had a lot of experience with color at the time, I thought the color choice was kinda 'meh'. Making uniform choices for our sports teams was always interesting. How do you blend such a bright color with other colors, especially gold? We somehow made it work, after a color combo try or two. But it was right around that point that I started to realize there are colors that I might not have given a chance unless they were forced upon me.
One of those colors that I've developed a color crush crush on is green. Being that I grew up with skin slightly lighter than the color of sand with as many freckles covering my entire body, I've learned to gravitate towards colors that make my pale skin radiate with color. Granted there are plenty of shades of green but I find that those with high amounts of saturation such as kelly green or emerald green are really the shining stars.
Wearing green might usually be reserved for late summer early fall but to me, there aren't really any specific times of year to wear certain colors. My rule? If you love it and it makes you feel good, than by all means wear it. I found this sleeveless green dress from Anthropologie this season. I have to say, I was not only smitten by the bow but I also think that it's a great option for a colorful green dress for the warm weather. If you've been reluctant to try green, here are a few benefits to adding a vibrant color to your closet.
The Benefits of Wearing Green
1 | It highlights the color of your eyes | If you have blue, green, or grey colored eyes, wearing emerald green and other jewel tone colors will look absolutely great on you. You'll notice a pop in the color of your eyes when wearing something that compliments your skin tone.
2 | It gives warmth to your hair | If you have a reddish undertone in your hair, kelly green or emerald green will not only look fantastic on you but will bring out the amazing undertones in your hair as well.
3 | If you have fair colored skin wearing a bright green dress or vibrant green top will compliment the tone of your skin, adding overall warmth.
