A Pink Flare Skirt + 3 Skirt Styles You Should Try This Season
Skirts happen to be a very underrated piece, don't you think? I mean, when looking inside your closet, do you tend to always wear jeans on the weekend? Or always opt for pants during the work week? This season, why not turn to the trusted skirt to give your outfit a bit more excitement? Here are three recommendations for skirts to try this season, including one of my favorites, a pink flare skirt.

Why You Should Add Skirts To Your Wardrobe This Spring (featuring one of my new favorites, the pink flare skirt..)
I'm a huge proponent of skirts. In fact, I think that most women should have a couple of go-to skirts in their wardrobe for those times when you don't feel like wearing pants, don't want to throw on a dress, or just want to feel slightly more feminine. Skirts have a certain illustriousness to them that I admire. Carolina Herrera, a goddess of skirt-wearing, is a great example. If ever there was a more perfect sartorial icon who knows how to mix and match a great skirt & top combo, she nails it every time.
But just because you haven't tried rocking a skirt on a regular basis doesn't mean you shouldn't start trying now. You might not feel as though skirts are right for you. I don't love all skirts all the time. It took a while for me to find this pink flare skirt. But I did (after lots of try-ons) and I love it. And while I won't go around saying you should wear this exact skirt or that, I will say that there are a few skirts out there that work on almost all body types and shouldn't go without a little attention.
The Midi Skirt (otherwise known as the Flare Skirt)
Another favorite forgiver, the flare skirt (also dubbed the midi skirt) helps to accentuate the waist and does just what its name implies, flares out and hits right around the knee. For the most flattering, try choosing a flare that has just a bit of pleating. One of my favorite hem lines that I recommend is the knee-grazer and billows out to create great silhouette. I'm loving this pink flare skirt from Evernew and I've been pairing it with everything from sandals to heels.
The Maxi Skirt
I've written now and again about my trusted favorite, the maxi skirt. This style does a wonderful job hiding those unforgiving areas around the mid-section when you're not feeling your best and does a great job of making you feel feminine without all the fuss. I love wearing a brightly colored maxi skirt with a plain white top, layered with a jean jacket.
The Pencil Skirt
Like a great flare skirt, a pencil skirt is your friend. It's been said that pencil skirts are best on hourglass figures, and while I won't disagree with that being a great fit for a body type, if you like a pencil skirt, wear it! What does a pencil skirt do for you? A pencil skirt does give you some accentuation in the waist area and helps to also gives you a smoother thigh area. Need more convincing? I wrote a post about wearing a pencil skirt for work and for a weekend look. If you need a reason, there are two more for you!
What are your thoughts on seasonal skirt style? Have a favorite? Which style would you most likely try?
