What Are You Wearing To Your Holiday Party?

A Pink Tulle Skirt for the Holiday
This time of year is one of my absolute favorites. It's the time when all the holiday festivities really start to kick in and invitations to holiday brunches, work & office parties, and festive cocktail parties start to arrive in your inbox and mailbox. Which, as I imagine for you, is the exact moment I start wondering what holiday outfit I'm going to wear. For me, I immediately think of my most feminine, often favorite, holiday go-to; my pink tulle skirt.
I've had this particular pink tulle skirt from Bliss Tulle for about a year now and first posted it on my blog when I wore it with a plain white tee for a spring outfit. Now that the temperatures have started dropping here in Toronto, there's no reason why I (or you!) have to store away my tulle skirt. I've learned that if I can layer properly, my pink tulle skirt can last through the winter.
It seems as though tulle skirts keep appearing in my regular rotation in my closet, since my first big tulle skirt purchase back when I posted about wearing a tulle skirt to a wedding (which is totally acceptable!) So I don't mind pairing it up with a great sweater/button down combo to keep me warm in the chilly Toronto temps. This fairisle sweater is a vintage piece I snagged last year and love pairing it with a complementary color top underneath.

1 | Color | There are plenty of options out there and you can find a tulle skirt just about anywhere from Nordstrom (free shipping and returns!) to Etsy and they range in price from $60-$200. (My skirt is the blush Ashley tulle skirt from Bliss Tulle.) Pick a color that suits your level of comfort and go with it! Anyone can rock a tulle skirt!
2 | Fit | From mini (short) to midi (knee-length) to full-length maxi (long), tulle skirts range in length too. A shorter one tends to be more playful, while a long one can be lovely and dramatic. I find that the midi is perfect and most comfortable for year-round wear.
3 | Add the finishing touches | Because a tulle skirt is so feminine, you can do anything from pair it with a moto jacket and studded necklace to wearing it with a pearl or statement necklace and silk or lace top.
