6 Seaport Village Shops You Need to Visit
San Diego has a whole lot of hidden and not-so-hidden gems, one of which being the Seaport Village shops. Sometimes, I think Seaport Village gets forgotten now that it's newer sister has arrived on the scene. That being so, it's great to reminisce the goodness that San Diego holds with a visit to these quaint spots. I paid a visit to the Seaport Village shops and hopped around to some of what I consider to be the cutest of the bunch!

6 Seaport Village Shops You Need to Visit
The Seaport Village shops have been around since 1980 and are home to some very unique San Diego based retailers. I love taking in not only it's downtown location but also it's close proximity the bay and view of Coronado. From Seaport Village, you can walk along the waterfront harbor and enjoy some pretty awesome scenery. When I first moved to San Diego in my 20's, Seaport Village was one of my first stops, so it holds a little something special in my heart.
If it's the first time or the millionth time you've been in or around the area, these are some of my favorite stops to shop at when you're visiting Seaport Village.
Upstart Crow
I've long been a lover of indie bookshops and years ago I came across the Upstart Crow. This Seaport Village shop was the perfect place to start the shopping experience because you could grab a cup of coffee, browse best-sellers, and sit in a cozy little nook reading until your heart's content. I noticed this go-round they've made a few changes (ie: limited their book selection) but the coffee is still great. And word has it, they're bringing back a larger book selection in the future. It is still a favorite spot to start your morning or afternoon visit at Seaport Village.
The Village Hat Shop
One of my favorite places in San Diego to shop for hats is the Village Hat shop. I love that Seaport Village shops has a hat location here. You can find just about any type of hat from a fascinator for the Del Mar races to a beret, if you're feeling kind of French. I've been on a bit of a hat kick as of late, so this Seaport Village shop was especially fun to visit.
San Diego Surf Co.
The perfect place to stock up on guys sweaters, jackets, and casual pieces is San Diego Surf Co. I found a great quilted men's jacket that I know Clint would love. If you're looking for casual, San Diego lifestyle pieces that don't scream 'tourist!' this is the perfect place to stop.
Eclipse Eyewear
It's not like I need a reason to nab a new pair of sunnies, it seems to be a habit of mine, but Eclipse Eyewear has a little bit of everything. I grabbed these awesome Ray-Ban Erika sunnies (they have them in pink too!) and have been wearing them non-stop.
Frost Me Gourmet
Obviously, no trip to Seaport Village is complete without dessert, right?! A stop into Frost Me Gourmet is a m.u.s.t. Their cupcakes and sweet treats are one of a kind (like Hibiscus Orange Pineapple and Lavender Lemon Blueberry) and have even been featured on the Food Network (ie: winners of Cupcake wars?!?). There is a lot to delight the senses and the sweet tooth at this Seaport Village shop.
The Historic Carousel
While this might not be a 'shop' of sorts, it is most certainly an attraction you can relive a childhood moment or two on. This was such a fun stop, and totally worth the ride, for kids and adults alike. After a stroll around the shops, a coffee, and a treat, this is the perfect way to end your visit to Seaport Village.
I want to thank Seaport Village shops for working with me to create such a fun blog post.
