3 Tips for the Perfect Spring Work Outfit
It isn't any surprise that we ladies are always looking for ways to refresh our work wardrobes. Any why not? We spend a majority of our days at work, so we don't want our outfits to be a bore, right? Pairing spring work outfits together can be made easy with a few style tips.
Tips for Pulling Together Great Spring Work Outfits
Just because you work in a corporate environment doesn't mean your outfits have to be boring. Here are some style tips that will have you feeling more confident about your work outfits.
Style Tips for Making Your Spring Work Outfits Pop
1 | opt for introducing at least one pattern into your outfit.
Often what makes a work outfit blah is that there is no contrasting pattern to give the outfit energy. Spring work outfits can be made fantastic with a few easy patterns. Using floral pants, a patterned top, or a great geometric pencil skirt will help your outfit go that extra mile.
2 | add in a pop of color to contrast the pattern.
One of the best ways to make a work outfit look even better is with a pop of color. Adding color in your top or bottom will balance out a pattern. Color also brings out your features, which is a great thing! One way to tell if a color works or not? Grab various colored tops (blue, cream, red, etc...). Then place different colors against your chest, close to your face, one at a time. If you appear washed out (i.e.: you suddenly have darker under eye circles) than that's not the right color for you. If your face appears a bit flushed (i.e.: like you've added some blush to your cheeks) than that is a flattering color for you! Some of my favorite places to grab affordable chic work tops are Loft (I love this smocked front top) and Asos (This sleeveless blouse is the perfect pairing for my spring work outfits.)
3 | layer with a well-fitted blazer to add a flattering dimension.
Nothing says work like a blazer, which can often be ill-fitting and blah. What makes a well-fitted blazer shine? Your blazer should nip at your waist, create a fluid line down to your hips, and should stop at the widest point. This creates great balance and looks fabulous on you. Places where I've found great, affordable blazers are at Nordstrom (the Caslon brand is the perfect blend of fit & price. I like this one for $59.00) and Zara (this tailored blazer is one of my newest fitted favorites).
