The Striped Boatneck Top
One of the tops I get the most wear out of is my J.Crew striped boatneck top. Why so? It's a classic top that can be paired in so many different ways. Let's take this pairing with the color combination black, white, and blue.
The Striped Boatneck Top
Call it a bateau, Sabrina, or boatneck, this cut refers to the line of the top that cuts right across the collarbone. Sailors a'plenty used to rock this cut and now gals from far and wide are wearing it, most famously dating back to Audrey Hepburn, who wore this cut beautifully.
Everyone from the minimalist dresser to the ladies who love color wear a striped boatneck top. It's is always in the wardrobe mix. Styling a striped top can be pulled together with a simple pair of jeans and trench coat layer or it can be integrated into a casual weekend look with khakis and sandals, or even overalls and your favorite tennis. Bottom line, nothing looks as effortlessly stylish as a striped top.
Stripes are worth every penny anyway you look at it. This 3/4 sleeve striped boatneck top is a particularly good one. I recently look it with me on my trip to New York City over the weekend and wore it two days while there. I ordered it online a few weeks back and have already worn it a handful of times. You know those tops you're happy you invested in? This striped boatneck top is one of them. This is going to be one of those striped shirts that I'll get a lot of wear out of throughout the season (not to mention it's a great wardrobe addition that can be mixed in with everything high and low).
Still a little leary about stripes? Here's a post I wrote a while back about integrating stripes into a wardrobe (yes, you can!) (Hint..one of the tips is big on narrow stripes)
