What I Packed + Wore for Paris
I was traveling in Paris last week and took 6 days’ worth of travel in my carry-on bag. I was very intentional about my packing process and as always, tried to make sure that I could wear one thing multiple ways. Here’s what I wore for 6 days of international travel with a carry on.
Day 1
Day one was black jeans from Frank and Eileen paired with black ballet flats, my Clare V. Perforated Grande Fanny, my favorite Anine Bing blazer (that elevates everything) and my favorite Sold Out NYC perfect tee.
Black Tee - My favorite tees of moment are the perfect tee from Sold Out NYC. Beautifully made, great quality, true to size. Code CONNITWENTY for 20% off.
Jeans - Frank and Eileen Monaghan jean, I love the black wash, raw hem, soft fit.
Shoes - Flattered black ballet flat (sometimes I gravitate between a 7.5-8 and I have these in an 8).
Blazer - One of my most worn blazers, for travel days and work days, and everything in between. Worth it for me. I sized doooowwn.
Bag - Clare V. Cream perforated Grande Fanny
For dinner that night I changed into a Max Mara black slip dress, my favorite Aeyde heels (that are super comfortable) and a vintage YSL Blazer that I purchased last year at one of my favorite Parisian vintage shops, O.P.E.N. Dressing. I have my Clare V. Fran Fran and I headed out to dinner.
Dress - Max Mara
Shoes - Aeyde Anni Block Heels (true size)
Bag - Fran Fran from Clare V.
Day 2
Day two was a wide leg pair of Snacks Denim from Mother that I have been living in this season. I wore my other favorite mary jane flats from Aeyde. This quilted jacket from Veronica Beard has served me well, as I bought it last year and packed it on my trip with my sister to Paris in May of 2022.
Jeans - Mother Snacks Denim (I’m 5’6” and they fit true to size) have been my all time favs. (limited sizing here too)
Shoes - Aeyde mary jane flats in peach (my color here), also in black here and a cost effective dupe here.
Jacket - I have gotten so much wear out of my VB Quilted jacket - similar options sold here and here
day 3
Day three I wore a very comfortable pair of Apiece Apart pants paired with my St. Roche sissy sweater and the same Aeyde flats from the day prior. I swapped out my sweater for a Nanin top featured on Shoppes and the Aeyde heels from the first night’s dinner.
Pants - Apiece Apart Bari Cropped Trouser pant (true size)
Sweater - St Roche Candy Sweater - I have a small (sized up) for better fit (use code CONNIJ15% for 15% off)
Top - Talu Silk Canvas Top from Shoppes (wearing my true size)
Day 4
Day four was repurposing my Mother denim, my vintage YSL blazer, and my Sold Out NYC Not So Basic Tank, my black Flattered flats.
Day 5
We went out on a river cruise on the river Seine and the weather couldn’t have been more beautiful. It was lovely enough for me to wear my Doen dress I packed and planned to wear to dinner, without a layer. I used my same heels from nights’ prior and the outfit worked perfectly.
Here’s what I packed
6 Days, I packed:
• 3 Layers // 2 blazers, 1 quilted reversible jacket
• 3 Shoes // 2 flats, 1 heel
• 2 Dresses // both elevated and packable
• 3 Bottoms // 1 for travel to/fro, 2 jeans - a wide full length and an ankle length
• 4 tops // 1 tank for travel, 1 tee, 2 dressier tops
• 2 Sweaters // 1 cardigan, 1 elevated pull on
Carry-on packing tips
I had mostly neutrals with two prints in my layers. I was able to mix and match almost everything (so I could recreate more outfit options if I was there for more than 5 days!). I really paired down my shoes, which took up less in my suitcase. If traveling and packing for travel overwhelms you, book an outfit planning session and we’ll get you taken care of.
