Is the Bell Sleeve Making a Comeback?
This season, I've been noticing (and have been a fan) of the bell sleeve. Particularly this lovely white eyelet top with bell sleeves that I picked up from Scotch & Soda this past month. Is the bell sleeve making a comeback?
ROCKING THE BELL SLEEVE TREND IN A WHITE EYELET TOP
I remember images of the bell sleeve waaaay back in the 70's. Those images were of my mother and quite possibly a notable amount of high school gal pals who were also rocking the same laid back, flowy vibe. The kind of vibe that ultimately has made a huge comeback over this past year. It's like festival style boho without the revealing parts. It's the type of vibe I can wrap my mind around because it can look good on so many.
This season, I grabbed this white eyelet top with bell sleeves from Shopbop and have to say, I am pleasantly surprised at how much I am loving this trend. For all you ladies who love a loose sleeve or want a bit less restriction in the arms, this style cannot be understated. I've seen Jenn from Style Charade and Anna Jane of See Ann Jane wear these bell sleeve tops and do it so so well. I mean, why else wouldn't you love another option you can pair with jeans, pencil skirts, shorts, and just about everything else? We all have our basic tees yes, but this season's bell sleeve is a new, modern take on an old fabulous classic, done right.
Some of my favorite bell sleeve top options at the moment include this lovely white eyelet top from Scotch and Soda (I ordered a small or size 1), this striped lace bell sleeve top from Chicwish, and this darling lace dress with bell sleeves. Each of the pieces (save for the dress) you can mix with jeans or a skirt which gives you a bit more versatility. From Coachella to the office, it seems that bell sleeve tops have made their way back into the mainstream of fashion. And if even for a moment, they are worth giving a try.
