A Cozy + Cute Valentines Day Outfit You Can Pull Off
Valentines Day marks the one-year anniversary of the Jespersen's living in Toronto. Last year, on February 14th, we drove right across the Canadian border, hearts in hand, wondering what adventures were to be bestowed upon us. The snow was falling around us as we drove in to Toronto and it was a bitter, bitter cold. This Valentines Day, while the winter might not be as chilly, I am more than ready to celebrate our year mark in a cozy & cute Valentines day outfit at home.

This past year, there were a whole lot of changes, both scary and exciting. We've met a lot of new people, gone exploring (although with Clint's crazy work schedule, not quite as much as we would like to...), and I started working full time again as a prop stylist in Toronto. While I still have my baby styling business on the side, it's been wonderful getting to surround myself with creative people in our new city. (If you're looking into trying to network and get to know others in a new city, I wrote a story about networking on the Yellow Conference blog just a few weeks' ago.)
While I love the beauty and color surrounding Valentines day and I love, love a good Valentines Day DIY, in our house, it's a wee bit calm come Valentines Day. The day doesn't hold a huge amount of significance in terms of putting pressure to go out to a fancy dinner or get really dressed up. We both just love a good night in, hanging out watching some of our favorite shows on Netflix, and making a home cooked meal. Despite the fact we don't necessarily go out, it doesn't mean I can't throw on a cute Valentines outfit to celebrate, right?
The key to a cozy and cute Valentines Day outfit is pulling together one element that makes you feel comfortable. Be it your favourite comfortable sweater (in this case my cozy pink cashmere sweater that I wear indoors a lot. See how I paired it with white jeans for a springtime outfit) paired with a piece that has texture, color, or pattern to give your Valentines Day outfit just a hint of fancy.
My favorite thing to be dressy/cozy in for a Valentines Day outfit are my sequin leggings. I bought these over the Christmas holiday and I absolutely adore them. That trend is one of my favorites, because I love a good sequin, don't you?
How are you planning on spending your Valentines Day? If you're planning a girls get-together did a fun post about styling a Gal-entines Day table with a fun group of San Diego gals last year. Enjoy your day, any which way you celebrate it!
